LGA takes top public sector department award
Matt Cartmell 21-Oct-08
The Local Government Association took home the top award for public sector department at this year’s PRWeek Awards.
The media team recently played a major part in handling the media frenzy around UK councils investing in Icelandic banks.
The seven-strong team has been recognised for a series of nationwide local government campaigns and by addressing negative publicity about councils. LGA spokespeople now regularly appear on radio phone-in shows to rebut criticism.
Meanwhile, the Red Consultancy has won best public sector campaign, for its THINK! Anti-drink drive Christmas 2007 campaign for the Department for Transport.
Red put a man in a pint glass at London Paddington on 13 December 2007 to highlight the personal consequences of drink drive convictions.
