I want to warn consultancies out there of the nuisance that is the 'waste your time' client.
It may be an inconvenient truth for your columnist Ian Monk (Opinion, 12 December), but the fact is that the Game Plan report allegedly 'leaked' to The Times was published, not shelved, in 2002 and has been in the public domain for six years, on websites, press releases, discussed at conferences, examined by other researchers and media.
This week's report by the Public Administration Select Committee calling for further regulation of the UK's lobbying industry is a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Week one of 2009 and I am already slightly exhausted. Camps Brown and Cameron have been working all out to get their charges on every available outlet going.
Starting back at work in January is never easy. It is more challenging when one faces sub-zero temperatures and train problems, even more so when the media revel in a narrative of gloom and despair.
There will doubtless be at least 2009 PR challenges to keep our profession busy through the new year and practitioners should raise their glass to the prosperity each and every challenge may bring to us.
